Making exchanges between the Celo dollar (cUSD) and the largest-capitalization steblecoins will be possible for MiniPay users through the new Pockets feature literally in one click with "sub-cent commissions and no hidden costs."

The feature simplifies asset exchange on Web3, enabling users to quickly exchange between all three stablecoins by simply dragging and dropping coins between virtual pockets without worrying about gas fees," said Opera's executive vice president of mobile, Jørgen Arnsen.

Launched in September 2023, MiniPay runs on the Celo blockchain and uses Mento's cUSD stablecoin, which is pegged to the value of the U.S. dollar. The wallet was originally designed for users in Africa to help them send and receive funds using only a cell phone number.
Since its launch, MiniPay has activated more than three million users from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa. These are the countries that are expected to be the region's leaders in cryptocurrency usage in 2023, according to BitcoinAfrica.io.
