66Owners of stores selling power equipment told reporters that small farms continue to buy the devices, as a result of which sales volumes have slightly increased.
In particular, the executive manager of Crypto Tools of one such store Jesus Montilla said that bitcoin miners in Venezuela continue to work, as companies mining digital assets refused to leave the market after the order of the authorities.
Recall that in May 2024, the Venezuelan government ordered the closure of all registered bitcoin mining farms, citing a growing energy crisis. As a result, more than 17,000 miners were disconnected from the national power grid.
However, they did not give up, but simply went underground, skillfully choosing where to install equipment for mining coins so that the country's authorities would not find out about them.
At the same time, the miners admit that they are experiencing difficulties in connecting to the networks and are forced to hide from law enforcers and officials so that they do not shut them down, destroy their equipment or imprison them.
