CoinStats attacked by hackers

The popular CoinStats app, which helps users create a crypto wallet and track their crypto portfolios across different networks, has been hacked.

Due to this, users who used the app to create a wallet were warned to transfer all their funds due to security issues.

Additionally, the platform team reported that an iOS notification purporting to inform individual users that they had won prizes was a scam. Some Android users also received similar notifications, as mentioned in a thread discussing the incident on Reddit.

We are currently experiencing a security issue affecting wallets created directly within CoinStats; this did not affect externally connected wallets. If you have an exported private key, withdraw your funds as soon as possible

CoinStats suspended the platform while the incident was investigated, and the home page describes the security failure and promises to publish details as quickly as possible.

It is currently unclear how many users have been affected by scammers.
