Next step: Several companies will file amended Forms S-1 today, possibly this afternoon. The SEC will then provide issuers with information about the latest developments and its verdict. We believe that give or take July 2nd will be the release date for the Ethereum ETF,” Balchunas wrote on June 21st.

Eric Balchunas

On Friday, several companies did file Amended Forms S-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to register ETH-ETFs. Among these firms were, for example, Fidelity, 21Shares and VanEck. For this reason, Eric's forecast regarding the date of approval for the listing of derivatives on exchanges is likely to be correct.

However, Balchunas doubts that Ethereum-based funds will attract much interest from traders. In his opinion, a maximum of 20% of the funds invested in Bitcoin ETFs will be invested in them. Currently, the level of capitalization of BTC-based derivatives reaches $79.3 billion. Thus, ETH-ETF will be able to attract no more than $15.9 billion, which is only 3.7% of the value of issued Ethereum coins.
