Justin Sun wins a meaningless Chinese victory in court

But will this victory benefit him beyond mainland China? Most likely no. Chongqing Business Media Group said Sun is under investigation by the FBI and is suspected of insider trading, according to court filings in the Chinese city of Chongqing. The court considered these words to be “completely unfounded” slander and awarded Sun a victory.

The source of most of these claims is a March 2022 Verge article, and none of these claims have been retracted since its publication. Previously, the media reported about Justin Sun's false statements regarding diplomatic immunity and adherence to BitTorrent's no-moderation policy.

Unfortunately, Sun cannot expect to be able to sue media companies located outside of mainland China. The fact that Chongqing Business Media Group only had to apologize and pay a fine of 500 yuan ($69) can be considered useless luck.
