Record Number of Crypto Users: 617 Million!

According to a16z, as of September 2024, the number of cryptocurrency users has reached 617 million, marking a historic high. About 60 million of them are active monthly.

Key Highlights from the Report:

• In 2024, the number of active addresses exceeded 220 million.
• The leading blockchain is Solana with 100 million active addresses, followed by NEAR (31 million), Coinbase's Base (22 million), TRON (14 million), and Bitcoin (11 million).

Interest in Solana is also growing among developers: the share of companies planning to launch projects on this platform has increased from 5.1% to 11.2%.

a16z analyst Darren Matsuoka emphasizes that lower transaction fees have facilitated the adoption of stablecoins. In the NFT sector, a shift is occurring: activity in speculative markets is declining, while affordable collections are gaining popularity.
