Serving more than 2.5 million customers, PostFinance entered into an agreement with Sygnum Bank in April 2023 to provide crypto services. The collaboration allowed PostFinance customers to buy, store, sell BTC and ETH using Sygnum's B2B platform.

In adding support for new cryptoassets, PostFinance has been driven by growing interest in the blockchains on which they operate. According to analyst firm Santiment, the Cardano network has seen impressive activity in late 2023, contributing to ASA's appreciation. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently commented on the addition of trading of his coin by PostFinance Bank as follows:

"Fun fact: when I was working on Etherium, Postfinance was one of our first banking partners. He was always easy and pleasant to work with."
Postfinance is not the only bank in Switzerland that provides digital asset-related services to clients. A few years ago, the local unit of Spanish bank BBVA (BME:BBVA) offered private clients services for storing and trading ether as well as bitcoin.
